The highest-selling manga series is finally getting its own live-action remake
One Piece, which follows Monkey D. Luffy on his quest to become King of Pirates, originally debuted in the Weekly Shōnen Jump anthology magazine some 26 years ago. The adventure series has already had a flurry of on-screen adaptations since; a long-running anime series, 15 animated films and 40 video games.
What is the new One Piece series about? One Piece follows young adventurer Monkey D. Luffy, who has longed for a life of freedom since he can remember. Luffy sets off from his small village on a perilous journey to find the legendary fabled treasure, One Piece, in order to become King of the Pirates.
