A person of interest is facing murder charges in the double homicide case of a father and his toddler son on Tuesday, according to a tweet from the Houston Police.
Satterwhite said the cause of death of the child could be heat exhaustion, but a final determination hadn’t been made as of Tuesday night.
Police don’t know how long the stolen SUV was parked on the residential street, which was bordered on one side by an apartment complex and on the other by single-family homes. The victim was wearing a security guard uniform, but police said he didn't work at any of the businesses in the parking lot, which include a flower shop and a Hispanic supermarket.
Satterwhite said the police had been canvassing the area and looking for the SUV after the initial shooting but had only vague information.
