A standoff in Kaufman County is over with one person in custody and another person deceased, officials with the sheriff's department say.
Officials with the Kaufman County Sheriff's Office told NBC 5 Monday afternoon that they were called to a home along Neal Road at about 12:20 p.m. Sheriff James Whitaker confirmed that one person is dead and that a second person was involved in a standoff at a home on the property.
