A man was fatally shot during a family disturbance Sunday, and a family member was detained in connection with the shooting, authorities said.
In a statement, police said officers responded to an apartment building in the 160 block of Sycamore Avenue for a report of shots fired.
Despite emergency life-saving efforts from paramedics and East Contra Costa Fire Protection District firefighters who also responded, the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
