ORANGE, Ohio -- Village Council is considering legislation that would enact a new planned development district, amend the village’s zoning map and submit the proposed zoning changes to voters.
The Weintraub property consists of about 80 acres of undeveloped land that runs south of Harvard Road between Orange Place and Brainard Road. The property has been on the market for more than 20 years. In order for that to happen, council would have to pass the ordinance and have it certified no fewer than 90 days prior to March 19.
The commission may also have a special meeting Oct. 24 if it needs more time to complete its review and recommendation to council, Mulcahy said. The parkland would make up 45 percent of the property, he said. The homes for sale would be 34 percent, shops and restaurants 11 percent and the retirement community 10 percent.
“It will have a lot of common space inside and outside,” Biales said. “There will be spaces where people can sit and talk, and a multipurpose room.”
