The new-look 2022-23 Buckeye roster picked up a 72-68 win over the Egyptian national team Saturday in its first of two exhibition games amid the Ohio State's summer trip overseas.wasn't present to take in the action at the Atlantis Resort on Paradise Island, and the game was neither televised nor available to stream. But both the Buckeye basketball program andof the Columbus Dispatch posted updates from the matchup as Ohio State eked out a tight win.
Given the chance to experiment with different lineups in an exhibition setting, Chris Holtmann opted to split up the starters between two groups from one game to the next. Against Egypt, the Buckeyes' starters were pulled from a group of Brice Sensabaugh, Zed Key, Bruce Thornton, Sean McNeil, Tanner Holden and walk-ons Colby Baumann and Owen Spencer.
Ohio State trailed Egypt 34-32 at halftime, but came back to take a five-point lead going into the final quarter of play. The Buckeyes took a 10-point lead with five minutes to play, but Egypt tightened the gap by the end to finish with a four-point loss to the scarlet and gray.
