Marvin Harrison Jr. spent the offseason developing a new aspect of his game that Ohio State's ready to use on gameday.
That touchdown is a sign of things to come for a weapon Ohio State knows it needs to use as much as possible. The importance of the position to the offense isn’t a new concept as whoever mans it has lead the team in receiving in four of the six years that Day has been the play-caller. It would be five years had Jaxon Smith-Njigba — who set program records playing there in 2021 — had not gotten injured in Week 1.
“I think that’s where my talents come into play,” Harrison said. “We ask our slots to sometimes take out linebackers, block D-ends. I definitely can do that also just being a mismatch. I like my chances against a safety anytime. It brings a different element to the offense.”
