Redshirt freshman quarterback C.J. Stroud, true freshman running back TreVeyon Henderson and true freshman cornerback Denzel Burke were all named 2021 Freshman All-Americans by the, which revealed its annual team of the nation’s best freshmen on Monday. Stroud earns Freshman All-American honors after a spectacular first season as Ohio State’s starting quarterback in which he completed 71.9 percent of his passing attempts for 4,435 yards and 44 touchdowns – ranking in the top five nationally in all three categories – with only six interceptions, earning Big Ten Offensive Player of the Year honors and fourth place in the Heisman Trophy race along the way.
Henderson is a Freshman All-American after rushing for 1,248 yards – the second-most of any true freshman in 2021, behind only Wisconsin running back and fellow Freshman All-American Braelon Allen – and 15 touchdowns on 183 carries in his first season as a Buckeye. He also caught 27 passes for 312 yards and four touchdowns.
