Joshua Russell, 44, of Bucyrus, pleaded guilty to sending threatening voicemails to Arizona Gov. Katie Hobbs in 2022 when she was the secretary of state.
, the Arizona governor who was then the secretary of state, accusing her of committing election fraud and telling her that her “days are extremely numbered.”
“You’re the enemy of the United States, you’re a traitor to this country and you better put your [inaudible], your [expletive] affairs in order, ‘cause your days [inaudible] are extremely numbered,” the message says. “America’s coming for you and you will pay with your life, you communist [expletive] traitor [expletive].”
The final message was left on Nov. 15, after Hobbs had been elected as governor, prosecutors say. Prosecutors say Russell again threatened Hobbs and told her that her “days are very short.”
