The Ohio House is expected to approve a two-year budget Wednesday that increases spending on Medicaid and schools while cutting income taxes.
The Columbus Dispatch
"I am confident we have arrived at a balanced, bipartisan budget," Rep. Bride Rose Sweeney, D-Westlake, said. "It really deals with all the above and really is trying to figure out what the future of lottery, casino and horse racing looks like for the state of Ohio," Edwards said. "It's paving the way for an apples-to-apple comparison," Edwards said."We want to make sure the charters, publics, non-traditional and traditional are all being held to the same standards...If people want , we also need to have universal standards."House Minority Leader Allison Russo, D-Upper Arlington, said that was a step toward transparency, but she'd like to see more. She also hoped the Senate might consider paying for all K-12 school meals.
