A fire that broke out in Medina County Friday afternoon is now 60% contained as of Sunday, according to the Baytown Fire Department.
On Saturday, evacuation orders were issued for all residents north and northeast of the fire. Around 4 p.m. officials warned anyone west of the Medina River, south of FM1283 and east of County Road 271, towards County Roads 2615, 2651 and 2652, to evacuate.
Evacuated residents were instructed to seek more information at the fire station on FM 1957 and find shelter at Loma Alta Middle School, 266 County Road 381 South, San Antonio.The Texas A&M Forest Service reported a Temporary Flight Restriction in place for the area of the "Das Goat fire."
