The Oceanside Public Library is working with the Hill Street Country Club and Oceanside Historical Society to put together an exhibit on significant cultural events in Oceanside’s history and seeks photographs and stories from the public.
Photos and stories that have been shared so far include images and recollections, for example, of students at the Americanization School during the 1930s, Japanese migrant families and farmworkers during the 1940s along with families arriving after the war in the 1950s at Camp Pendleton, Mexican migrant workers settling in Oceanside in the 1950s, protests during the Vietnam War and Vietnamese refugees at Camp Pendleton in the 1970s.
