Nynaeve's The Wheel of Time Season 2 Arc Explained The “arches” mentioned by Hamri are ter’angreal—essentially, tools that use the magical One Power to achieve certain functions—used as an initiation rite by the Aes Sedai. The arches tempt users with different versions of their lives, which ultimately must be abandoned in order to escape the ter’angreal and return to reality.
Nynaeve is fiercely loyal to and protective over those she views as her friends or responsibilities, and she’s willing to go through anything to fulfill her duty to them. Because of that, Nynaeve’s season 2 arc begins with her essentially hoping to take advantage of the Aes Sedai so that she can gain control over the One Power and use it to her own ends. Where that will ultimately take her by the end of The Wheel of Time season 2 will be exciting to see.
