A Brooklyn man was indicted with murder for the beating death of his girlfriend's 2-year-old son while she was at work in August, the local district attorney's office said.
Additionally, Lewis is charged in connection with another alleged incident that took place on April 22 when the toddler also allegedly sustained a spiral fracture of his femur while his mother was away and he was under Lewis' care. In that case, Lewis allegedly failed to seek medical attention. Brooklyn District Attorney Eric Gonzalez announced Sunday that Latrell Lewis, 23, was arraigned on second-degree murder, first-degree manslaughter, second-degree manslaughter, and endangering the welfare of a child charges. Lewis was ordered held without bail and has his next court date scheduled for Nov. 17.
