Former coaches Paul Riley, Christy Holly, Rory Dames and Richie Burke have been permanently banned from the NWSL following investigations into misconduct by all four.
, including permanent bans for four head coaches, a $1.5 million fine for the Chicago Red Stars, and a $1 million fine for the Portland Thorns.
The four coaches given lifetime bans are Paul Riley, Christy Holly, Rory Dames and Richie Burke.
Racing Louisville, Holly's former club, was fined $200,000 and required to have a separate sporting staff from Louisville City FC, the USL club with which it shares an owner. That seemingly spells the end of James O'Connor's oversight of the NWSL club, with theThe North Carolina Courage, who also employed Riley, were fined $100,000 and required to put a similar structure in place, with the club sharing ownership with USL team North Carolina FC.
OL Reign and Gotham FC were both fined $50,000 while the Washington Spirit, Burke's former club, escaped a fine because of the change in ownership since his time as coach.
