San Antonio’s NuStar Energy profits increase as more Permian crude flows through its pipelines

NuStar reported $57 million in earnings, or 19 cents per unit, for the first three months of the year. That was a 36 percent increase from a year ago.Overall throughput in NuStar’s pipeline system increased 16 percent from last year. Much of that increase was in the company’s crude oil pipelines in the Permian Basin, which averaged 510,000 barrels per day, a 27 percent increase.
