Harrison Ford reflects on Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, admitting the film didn't offer the closure he hoped for. 1989’s Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade seemed to have put a rousing capper on the franchise launched with 1981’s Raiders of the Lost Ark. But to the surprise of filmgoers, Indiana Jones returned in 2008 for what was presumed again to be one final adventure.
“Six years ago, I thought maybe we ought to take a shot at making another one. And I wanted it to be about age because I think that rounds out the story that we’ve told and we brought it to the right place. I mean, the last one ended in kind of a suspended animation. There was not a real strong feeling of the conclusion or the closure that I always hoped for.”
