BREAKING: Northwestern coach Pat Fitzgerald won't return as football coach, reports say
The move comes after Northwestern on Friday suspended the coach for two weeks without pay following an investigation into hazing allegations within the football program.
Then after the student paper, The Daily Northwestern, on Saturday published the former player's account of sexualized hazing activities, university President Michael Schill said in a letter to the Northwestern community he"may have erred" in judgment and would revisit the sanctions against Fitzgerald.Fitzgerald had said Friday in a statement he was"very disappointed" when he heard about the hazing allegations.
