Strike action will be staged all week
Northamptonshire warehouse operatives are on strike over a new pay deal. Members of the United Road Transport Union are employed by shipping and freight company Yusen Logistics Ltd.
A spokesperson for the union confirmed further action may take place in subsequent weeks until a "resolution to the dispute" is found. The action is authorised by URTU’s National Executive Committee and is in relation to a long-running standoff.It started in early 2022 when the URTU was seeking a formal recognition agreement with Yusen at the Grange Park 2 site, involving the negotiation of terms and conditions of employment for its members.
However, following a series of discussions, no agreement was able to be reached. At a meeting held with the Advisory, Conciliation and Arbitration Service Yusen Logistics Ltd confirmed they would not improve the 2022 pay deal, claims the URTU.
