“I think every time these two programs get together, you’re going to get each other’s best shot,” North Shore coach Jon Kay said. “That’s what I love about the rivalry, that’s what I love about playing them is that in a game like that, you make each other better. We learned some stuff about our team, and they probably learned some things about themselves.”
“We have to lock in,” North Shore senior cornerback Jacoby Davis said. “We have to come in as a group and make sure that we’re doing our assignments. … I feel good. We have come together as a brotherhood and push through adversity.”The Mustangs moved senior defensive back Evan Jackson to quarterback in the regular-season finale against Kingwood, and he has started every game in the playoffs.
