Jarrell Taver-Hudson, 32, of Garfield, is accused of sexually assaulting a child 14 years of age or younger on one occasion, authorities said.
The Division of Child Protection & Permanency contacted prosecutors on July 26, reporting the alleged assault. The investigation identified Taver-Hudson as a suspect and detectives arrested him in Garfield on Tuesday.
Taver-Hudson has been charged with first-degree aggravated sexual assault and second-degree endangering the welfare of a child, officials said. He is being held in Bergen County Jail pending his first court appearance. No other information was immediately released. Attorney information for Taver-Hudson was not immediately available.
