The state of North Carolina is now offering a reward of $75,000 to anyone who submits a tip leading to an arrest relating to a recent attack on a pair of power stations.
North Carolina, Duke Energy, and Moore County are each offering a $25,000 reward, all of which will go to the person who submits the information that authorities use to lead to an arrest or conviction, Gov. Roy Cooper announced Wednesday. Authorities are still looking for suspects for a gunfire attack on two Duke Energy stations that took place on Saturday night in Moore County, leaving over 45,000 homes and businesses without power, according to a press release from the governor.
“An attack on our critical infrastructure will not be tolerated,” Cooper said. “I appreciate the coordinated efforts of law enforcement to leave no stone unturned in finding the criminals who did this and I thank Moore County and Duke Energy for matching the state’s reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible.”As of Wednesday, the equipment that had been damaged from the attack has either been repaired or replaced.
