Among the questions the Yankees have this offseason is: Just what are they going to get out of DJ LeMahieu next season?
“It’s not a usual injury,” Steinbrenner said. “It’s not [something] normal we see on two players on every team every year. The Yankees and LeMahieu already tried rest, orthopedics and other therapies such as stem cells, but surgery remains on the table. LeMahieu has tried a number of non-surgical treatments for his injured right foot, but surgery remains an option.And it’s made more complicated, Kennedy added, by the ligament damage to the second toe, which also may be treated surgically if doctors perform the sesamoid procedure.
