No dreams, just nightmares as Pitt self-destructs against Folsom
PITTSBURG – The Pittsburg Pirates, cloaked in orange smoke and greeted by a heavily-censored version of Meek Mill’s “Dreams and Nightmares,” emerged onto the field Friday night like superstars.
But instead of the offensive fireworks many expected, Folsom turned the game into a defensive struggle. The Bulldogs intercepted four passes, blocked a field goal and a punt and applied a slew of quarterback pressures in a 23-15 victory. “For the rest of the year, we need to take care of business and maybe we’ll see them again,” Pittsburg coach Victor Galli said. “They didn’t beat us, we beat ourselves. And I’ll leave it at that.”
Folsom’s hounding defense kept the heat on quarterback Jaden Rashada, a University of Miami commit, and the Bulldogs capitalized on the special-teams mistakes to emerge with the big road win as they improved to 3-1 heading into a showdown next Friday at De La Salle.For Folsom, Notre Dame commit Rico Flores had 87 yards on five catches and made a slew off plays in the defensive secondary.
