26 NJ Transit employees have died from COVID-related complications since the beginning of the pandemic, officials said.

NJ Transit lost a long-time rail employee and a bus driver to complications from COVID-19, even as officials said the number of positive cases has significantly declined among its workers. Robert Gallo, 45, of Vineland, and Florie Fiedtkou, 58, of Orange, were among the latest NJ Transit employees to be claimed by COVID, said Kevin Corbett, NJ Transit CEO. So far,Fiedtkou was Supervisor of Train Operations and worked for the agency for 26 years. Corbett mentioned her concise morning calls wrapping up the status of the railroad.

NJ TRANSIT mourns the passing of Florie Fiedtkou from complications related to COVID-19. Florie worked at NJ TRANSIT for 26 years and most recently served as Supervisor of Train Operations. Our deepest condolences to her family, friends, and colleagues.
