He is wanted in the state of Utah for two charges of rape and one of sexual assault. After fleeing to the UK to avoid police who were searching for him over the rape allegations, Rossi later met his wife Miranda Knight, who is standing by him. During a court hearing which followed, he falsely claimed to be an innocent Irishman called Arthur Knight who'd never been to America. But the battle finally came to an end last month when the Scottish Minister signed off an order granting his extradition.
A spokesman for Essex Police said: "Essex Police officers investigating a non-recent allegation of rape arrested and questioned a 36-year-old man. The report was made to us in April 2022.
