The Government has stood by its decision to only evacuate British passport holders, despite calls from MPs to help NHS doctors
: “NHS doctors with residency in the UK should of course be evacuated from the grave situation in Sudan, alongside British citizens. The FCDO must act urgently before the ceasefire ends and it is too late.”
“That’s what I’m not clear on. But of course, it’s right if you’ve got a visa to come to the UK, if you’ve got residency, you should be on a flight being evacuated.
The Government has also refused to commit to seeting up an asylum route for Sudanese citizens who are displaced by the civil war.
