Shanita N. Rose, 40, of Newark, is wanted on charges in the carjacking on Tuesday that triggered an Amber Alert.
Shanita N. Rose, 40, of Newark, has been identified by detectives as a suspect in this incident, Newark Public Safety Director Fritz G. Fragé said Friday.
The boy was unattended in the running vehicle when the carjacker jumped in and drove away at 8:13 a.m. on the 100 block of Wilson Avenue in Newark, according to police and the Essex County Sheriff’s Office. Newark police later released surveillance footage of the accused carjacker, but authorities identified her for the first time on Friday as Rose.
