JUST IN: New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio announces 2020 presidential bid.
New York, New York New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio entered the 2020 Democratic presidential primary Thursday morning, setting himself up as the best candidate in a 23-person race to challenge President Donald Trump.
In a video posted online, de Blasio outlined a number of policies he championed in the city, including a $15 minimum wage, guaranteed health care and paid sick leave. He also took direct aim at Trump, calling the President a"bully" and saying he was best equipped to beat him in 2020. "I'm a New Yorker, I've known Trump's a bully for a long time. This is not news to me or anyone else here. And I know how to take him on," de Blasio said.
