, a 14,000-square-foot space with nightly live music, will open March 20 at 6025 Richmond. The location is the former Billy Blues, once one of the city’s largest blues venues, that closed in 2001. Most recently the site was home to Diablo Loco Sports Bar., the upscale restaurant that opened last year west of Galleria in the former Houston’s location, are behind the project .“We want to go back to the roots of southern culture, where music and good food are the celebration,” Wright stated.
In addition to nightly live music, Rockhouse will offer a full bar with cocktails as well as a Southern-inspired food menu with dishes such as flatbread with jambalaya pizza sauce topped with shrimp, crawfish, and andouille; egg rolls filled with creamy collards and smoked oxtail; fried seafood platter; smoked oxtail on gouda cheese grits; pasta carbonara with lobster and shrimp; fried chicken; chicken battered fried lobster tails; and Cajun ribeye steak with scampi butter.
Rockhouse will be open Monday through Thursday 4 p.m. to midnight; Friday and Saturday 11 a.m. to 2 a.m., and Sunday 11 a.m. to midnight.
