Social Security Scotland has issued new guidance for people on Personal Independence Payment or Disability Living Allowance whose circumstances change while they are transferring from the Department for Work and Pensions system to the devolved one. However, the advice also applies to people in receipt of payments such as Adult or Child Disability Payments.
It takes approximately 13 to 17 weeks to transfer someone’s award from the DWP to the devolved welfare system. Guidance on mygov.scot explains that if you get other benefits or services related to your disability payment, you will need to tell each organisation about the move to Social Security Scotland.
