The council houses are planned at a busy junction
Documents showed new council homes in Nottingham could now go ahead, and flats about a falafel restaurant were being considered. Meanwhile, plans for more flats in a popular city centre street and the extension of the Bilborough Islamic Centre were submitted last week.
A structure that will house the electrical, instrumentation, control and automation equipment needed to operate the radial gate and stop log system for the fish pass can now be set up. Holme Sluices, which was built in the 1950s and opened by the late Prince Philip, spans the full width of the River Trent and is used by the Environment Agency to protect Nottingham from flooding and control river levels upstream.
The houses would be two-storey and would be laid out in a back-to-back arrangement with five fronting on to Woodborough Road, eight fronting onto Norman Close and two on to St Ann's Way. The flats would be in a three-storey block located on the southern corner of the site.Flats above falafel restaurant Plans were submitted last week to turn space above Falafels in Long Row into two self-contained flats on the first floor and short-term lets on second and third floors.
The area was the main shopping street in the city up until the late 19th Century. Two buildings numbered 48 to 50 and 52 to 52A, are designated Grade-II listed by Historic England.
