New Mexico State University said it fired its men’s basketball coach, days after a player reported to campus police that three of hisChancellor Dan Arvizu said he made the decision Tuesday to
terminate coach Greg Heiar, following the hazing allegations. He said the university’s director of athletics informed Mr. Heiar, who was in his first season as head coach, of the decision Tuesday afternoon.
