Homeowners in the Garden State are getting a 90-day grace period on mortgages, according to Gov. Phil Murphy. In that time, late fees and other expenses will be waived, as well.
New Jersey homeowners who are economically affected by the novel coronavirus will have their payments, late fees and other expenses waived over this period, Murphy said in a tweet on Saturday.
Since yesterday, 2,289 New Jersey residents have tested positive for COVID-19, bringing the total to 11,124. In the last day 32 more people in the Garden State have died, bringing the total to 140. Lenders will also waive late fees and other expenses that borrowers would otherwise incur due to the grace period, Murphy announced in a tweet.
