An online petition is also calling for the £301 means-tested payment to be backdated to people who received a nil award.
Millions of people claiming means-tested benefits are due to receive the second part of the £900 cost of living support between October 31 and November 19. Payments of £300 will land automatically into some 8 million accounts from the Department for Work and Pensions or HM Revenue and Customs .
The petition has been created by Tobias Olliver Haynes and posted on the petitions-parliament website where it will receive an official response from the UK Government if it reaches the 10,000 signature threshold.
