San Antonio's up-and-coming drinking strip will welcome a new haunt from the owner of Hidden Grove, Old Main Ice House and the original Bar House.

In addition to other breweries and bars like Lucky Duck, Roadmap Brewing and Bentley's Beer Garden, there will be a new bar location soon. According to the, Schertz-area bar owner Nick Marquez is turning the 93-year-old building at 820 N. Alamo St. into his newest venture, New Bar House. On the north side of downtown San Antonio, the two-story wooden structure will be renovated, while a two-story steel structure will be added for use as a tavern, according to TDLR details. Work is expected to start July 6, with an estimated completion date of Jan. 4, 2024. The work is estimated to cost $830,000.
Marquez also owns several bars in the Schertz area, including Hidden Grove, Old Main Ice House and Bar House. Each of the three features pet-friendly policies and are known as hangout spots in the area. The new bar is expected to be like the original Bar House, which features a full bar replete with craft cocktails and beer selection, and which serves food from No Mames Tacos on Thursday through Saturday.
