The fallout is being closely watched by some senior women leaders at NBCU, who feel that now there's a chance to name a woman as his successor, a third insider said. Many executives also want assurance that the investigation that led to Shell's ouster was handled properly, this person said, adding,"They're saying, 'We're watching.'"
