Robb Report taps Aaron Bludorn’s Navy Blue and Evelyn Garcia’s Jun on list of best...
The Houston restaurants shared the list with some of the most exciting new restaurants in the country, including Kann in Portland, Ore. , Tatiana by Kwame Onwauchi in New York, Torrisi Bar & Restaurant in New York, and Copra in San Francisco which was listed as No. 1.
Austin did well, too. Robb Report named Este, the coastal Mexican restaurant from chef Fermin Nunez, as No. 2 on the list. Nunez, who also owns Suerte, the upscale Mexican restaurant, was also recognized as Chef of the Year. This is what Robb Report wrote about Navy Blue:"With the second restaurant Aaron Bludorn has opened since leaving New York for Houston, the Pacific Northwest native is dipping his toe into different waters. At Navy Blue, along with executive chef Jerrod Zifchak, he’s cooking what he calls New American cuisine that’s influenced by the bounty of the Gulf’s seafood, all the while deftly deploying the French techniques he honed while leading the beloved Café Boulud.
