The UK is 'urgently looking into' claims Russian missiles crossed into Poland
A senior US intelligence official said on Tuesday that Russian missiles crossed into NATO member Poland, killing two people.
Polish government spokesman Piotr Mueller did not immediately confirm the information, but said Poland is verifying if it needs to request consultations under Article 4 of the NATO military alliance treaty. Article 4 allows NATO members to bring any issue of concern, especially regarding security, for discussion at the North Atlantic Council. The Polish foreign ministry later said a Russian-produced rocket fell on the Polish village of Przewodow, near the Ukrainian border, at 3.40pm local time. It added that it had summoned the Russian ambassador over the incident.
