NASA astronaut Frank Rubio will become the first American to spend an entire year in space, though thisRubio was supposed to return home this spring, but the Russian Soyuz spacecraft that carried him into orbit was damaged by a micrometeoroid. Russia launched an empty replacement vehicle in February, and NASA announced Wednesday that Rubio and two Russian cosmonauts are expected to return home in their new spacecraft on Sept. 27.
