Naperville gun shop owner adds city's police chief to federal lawsuit to prevent enforcement of gun sale ban

A gun shop owner suing Naperville over an ordinance banning the sale of certain high-powered rifles weapons is now asking a federal judge to prohibit the city's police chief from enforcing the city law and a new state law.

Naperville's ordinance, which was set to go into effect on Jan. 1, is being delayed until a judge rules on a request for a temporary restraining order. On Wednesday, Naperville City Attorney Mike DiSanto said the amended lawsuit targets the wrong subjects.
