NHS strikes: Nadhim Zahawi angers nurses by saying strikes are ‘sending a message to Putin’
Mr Zahawi used his media appearances on Sunday to urge nurses not to strike and “send a very clear message” to Russian President Vladimir Putin, as he said rising prices were being driven by higher energy costs due Mr Putin’s war in Ukraine. Nursing staff were quitting the NHS because they could not afford food and bills and were “fearing the worst on energy this winter”, she added.
