The South Jersey woman is expected to be sentenced to 25 years in prison as part of a plea agreement, according to the county prosecutor.
Brandy M. Lee, 35, of Runnemede, was expected to be sentenced to 25 years in prison as part of a plea agreement with prosecutors, according to Camden County Prosecutor Grace C. MacAulay.
Lee pleaded guilty to aggravated manslaughter for the early June 22, 2020 killing of Kevin D. Owens III at a motel on the 100 block of East 9th Avenue in Runnemede, the prosecutor said in a statement. When Lee was arrested, the prosecutor’s office described Owens as her boyfriend and said she was seen on security footage.
Authorities have not commented on a possible motive or disclosed more details on the circumstances of the shooting. Lee remained at the Camden County jail ahead of sentencing scheduled for March 4, according to the prosecutor’s office. Attorney information was not immediately available.
