A counselor at a YMCA summer camp in Hunterdon County has been removed amid allegations he inappropriately touched child campers., and parents were notified of the incident via email earlier this month.that a Camp Bernie staff member “acted inappropriately with children at the camp.”
Lamour was asked specific questions about the allegations, including when the accusations were made, when police were notified, when the staffer was removed, and the number of accusers. Camp Bernie sits in Lebanon Township, near the border with Warren County. It offers day camp, overnight camp and summer community classes during the summer, according to the camp’s website.
In his email to camp parents, Lamour said while they had no reason to believe the recipients’ child was involved in any incidents, they were reaching out to any child who may have come in contact with the staffer.
