N.J. man charged with fatally stabbing a woman in Newark

Miles, also of Summit, was found with stab wounds around 3:45 a.m. on Friday in the 500 block of Ferry Street, police said. She was taken to University Hospital, where she was pronounced dead at 4:42 a.m., the prosecutor’s office said.

The Essex County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide/Major Crimes Task Force is handling the investigation, which is ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to contact the prosecutor’s office’s tip line at 1-877-TIPS-4EC or 1-877-847-7432. Calls will be kept confidential.
