Hackensack University Medical CenterHackensack University Medical Center has earned the country’s first Health Care Equity Certification from The Joint Commission, an independent, not-for-profit health care accrediting organization.
Obtaining certification is a rigorous process, requiring health systems to have “formalized structures in place to improve health equity across their facilities and serve as community collaborators to address areas of need,” the statement said.
