A mum-of-three who was forced to raise her kids in a rat-infested home for YEARS says they have been 'living in fear' after housing bosses failed to solve the problem.

But she claims she has spent years 'constantly bleaching, washing and de-fleaing everything daily,' and despite repeated attempts to get in touch with Salix homes, never felt they took the issue seriously.
Emily says Salix homes did send workers over on a number of occasions, but they would only ever patch up holes in the wall, and the rats would return within weeks. However, the emails also show consistent communication between Emily and Salix since October 2020 - including correspondence between social services and Salix in December 2020 outlining the issues.
“We are deeply sorry for the delays and the service our customer has experienced, which we acknowledge has been unacceptable in this case.
