Georgia Governor Brian Kemp declared a State of Emergency on Sunday morning in response to the widespread reports of damage.

A temporary shelter has been established for those with damage at the West Point Parks and Rec / Point University Gym off of Highway 29 in West Point, according to the Troup County Sheriff’s Office. I have issued a State of Emergency order following the severe storms and tornadoes that struck this morning.
As we continue to monitor the weather and work with local partners to address damage throughout the day, I ask all Georgians to join us in praying for those impacted.

Multiple severe weather possibilities for our Sunday!A stationary front draped across the area will be the focal point for storms today. In the morning, these will mostly be for inland counties and bring with them a high risk of large, damaging hail. There will also be gusty winds and a risk of tornadoes.In the afternoon, some scattered storms pop-up for coastal and metro areas along I-10. These storms could also be severe with hail and isolated tornadoes the main threat. Highs will be around 80.
