"Year over year, Penske's Top Moving Destination list has unveiled a continued migration of consumers from the Midwest region and into sunnier markets,"San Antonio dropped from sixth in the report that covered 2021 to ninth in the latest, which looks at 2022 numbers. The change is in part due to the fact that new markets like Atlanta and Jacksonville, Fla., saw an increase in inbound movers. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, 27.
"It's always exciting to see the next top moving destination cities and where our customers are moving," Kevin Malloy, senior vice president of Penske Truck Rental, said in a statement. Houston, Las Vegas and Orlando, Fla., were the cities that saw the largest number of inbound, one-way trucks, according to Penske. Phoenix and Atlanta — on the list for the first time since the pandemic began — rounded out the top five.
