The mother of a 3-year-old boy who was fatally shot in a car last week is facing two additional child endangerment charges, according to police.
Authorities have also not said whether they believe Jalexus got a hold of the gun and shot himself, or whether he was shot by somebody else in the car. The Dallas Police Department did not respond to a request for additional information.
A public defender representing Washington did not immediately respond to a request for comment Tuesday. Jalexus was fatally shot last Monday in what his mother initially described as a road-rage incident. But an autopsy on the boy revealed he was shot at close range, ruling out gunfire from a passing car.
